Oregon LMSC Long Distance Swimming

Oregon LMSC has a large number of swimmers who participate in long distance events for fitness and competition. To meet this demand, Oregon has a very active long distance program, including a series of open water swims in the summer and a series involving the USMS National Postal Swims throughout the year. Oregon has achieved a high level of success in long distance swimming in recent years, with many National Long Distance Individual Champions and several National Long Distance Team Titles to its credit.

Oregon Open Water Series

This is a series of open water swims that are conducted at local lakes. Individual results are tabulated for Oregon athletes, with scoring, awards, and recognition for a cumulative series, similar to the Oregon Long Distance Postal Series. The purpose of this series is to promote fitness, competition, and fellowship in our unique outdoor settings.

Oregon Postal Series

This is a series of long distance swims that are conducted at local pools and entered in USMS Long Distance National Championship Postal Events. The results are tabulated for Oregon athletes, with scoring, awards, and recognition for a cumulative series, similar to the Oregon Open Water Series. The purpose of this series is to promote fitness, training, and competition for all without requiring long travel to participate. Oregon Long Distance Records

To honor its proud history of excellence in long distance events, Oregon maintains age group records for Oregon swimmers in all USMS Long Distance National Championship Postal Events and Open Water Cable Swims. To view the Oregon Long Distance Records, please click here.

Oregon also honors long distance excellence by maintaining an All-Time Top Twelve for each USMS Long Distance National Championship Postal Event.
